Georgie Landy is a licensed and board certified art therapist and psychotherapist with a masters degree in Art Therapy from New York University. She has broad training in trauma informed care, unhealthy attachment styles and expressive arts therapies.
Georgie has worked with a variety of populations including young men impacted by addiction to support alternatives means to incarceration, survivors of sexual abuse, in-patient psychiatric patients, and individuals struggling with sex and love addiction. Her New York City hospital affiliations include Elmhurst, Maimonides, and Bellevue.
As an artist herself, Georgie believes in the power of creativity as a catalyst for transformation. In facilitating a safe space to explore individual and family challenges, Georgie combines verbal and visual modalities to uncover the multidimensional layers of the self and guides clients to develop effective coping skills for the present.
In addition to her clinical practice, Georgie has presented at local professional conferences such as The Arts and Social Work Conference at New York University, where she was invited as a keynote speaker by the Dean of the School of Social Work, as well as international conferences at the Shanghai Theater Academy in China and Basics International School in Ghana.
